Chapter 1
"Two children - one male, one female - to each family unit. It was written very clearly in the rules. (p. 10)"
This is a really messed up thing to do why do they do this? And why is it that it has to be one girl one boy but not just as many children that they want. If I were living there I would probably live somewhere else instead of where I live now. Chapter 2
"But to be honest, Jonas," his father said, "for me there was not the element of suspense that there is with your Ceremony. Because I was already fairly certain of what my Assignment was to be."
How could he know what assignment Jonas was getting? Is it that the chief elder had told Jonas's father what assignment that Jonas was getting or is it that he is just phsycic? Maybe im not sure yet but I guess I will just have to find out in the next chapter what the truth is.
Chapter 3
"He apple had changed just for an instant. It had changed in mid-air he remembered. Then was in his hand and he looked at it carefully but it was the same apple. Unchanged the same size and shape: a perfect sphere. The same nondescript shade."
Wow that is reallt weird how can an apple just change like that? It's either him or its something else i dont even know for sure but I think its just that he is halusinating. I don't know for sure yet but I'll probably find out in a chapter after this one if I don't the author is really messing up the story.
Chapter 4
What happens when they make the actual release? Where exactly did Roberto go? (p. 32)
I don't actually think I will figure out right now but probably in a later chapter. I think they just kill him or they release him to the outside of the community. I just hope that its the release out the community one not the kill Roberto to release him.
Chapter 5
"You're ready for the pills, that's all. That's the treatment for stirrings."
What is stirrings? I think that stirrings is when 12 year olds start thinking of other people and having sexual intercourse with them so to stop that from happening I think they just give them that pill to make them stop thinking about them. I think that Jonas will just throw away the pills because he'll proabably just want to think about other people instead of forgetting about them.
Chapter 6
It was as if the first Caleb were returning. (p. 43)\
How can they just replace someone like that is it that they have no emotions or they have no love for one and other? Or is it that they can just replace anyone just by making a new baby and naming him the same and making him live the same live style. I dont know how they really react to this but i think i will probably will figure this out in a later chapter.
Chapter 7
Then the Chief Elder moved ahead in her speech.
The chief elder is probably a girl because they don't critisise people by what gender they are but how they think and what they do and mostly their personality. They probably do this because they don't want to leave out girls in thier community because they want everyone to have the same equal rights.
Chapter 8
Jonas has been selected to be our next Receiver of Memory (p. 57)
WHAT?!?! What is that? Is that someone who receives memories of stuff that has happened? Well i don' quite know because i haven't read the whole book! But im sure i will figure out.
Chapter 9
"What happened to her?"he asked nervously. But his parents looked blank. "We don't know."
His parents are liars because they probably already know what really
Chapter 10 (choose one)
He couldn't imagine what the thousands of pages contained. (p. 71)
Chapter 11
"Why don't we have snow, and sleds, and hills?"
Chapter 12
"We shouldn't have!" Jonas said fiercely (p. 91)
Chapter 13
"We really have to protect people from wrong choices."
Chapter 14 (choose one)
"But what wisdom do you get from hunger?" (p. 105)
